Our family spent the past couple of days in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It was our first vacation (well, a mini vacation ) as a family of three. Caleb slept the whole way there and seemed intrigued by all the sights and sounds of Gatlinburg. When we arrived at our hotel and Caleb saw the pool, it was obvious that we needed to get to the pool immediately! Caleb loved the pool, and as you can see from the pictures, he is quite the daredevil (he gets that from his dad). We also took a hike in the Great Smoky Mountain National Forest. Going up was fine and Caleb really enjoyed all the rocks, leaves, and water, but going down Caleb got a little sleepy, so mommy and daddy carried him the whole way. For mommy and daddy it was a long trip down the mountain.
I was anxious to see how Caleb would do sleeping in a “big bed” in the hotel. The first night it took him a little while to fall asleep but along with a little cuddling from mommy and daddy he eventually did and he slept well the whole night through. The second night he fell asleep in the car (I think I wore him out shopping ) and remained that way until morning. We were all packed up and ready to leave our hotel when Caleb called for me to come into the bathroom. He happily pointed into the toilet, where he had thrown his Mr. Lion, his stuffed animal that goes everywhere with him. Hmmm. Mr. Lion got a quick bath before we left in the bathtub- no harm done.
Caleb enjoyed Gatlinburg, but he was happy to be home, as evidenced by him calling for his grandparents and dog all the way home. There is no place like home, after all. Oh, and by the way- this is the 200th blog post! Wowee. That is a lot of typing.
The hike was just too much for him....he slept the whole way down....
