Still Waiting.....

The above photos are from the 4th of July. We had a great time at Bea's farm (Belinda, or Bea as Caleb calls her is my mom's best friend) and saw some great fireworks and old friends.
Still no news of a court date, though families who submitted their paperwork to court on the same day as we did seem to be receiving court dates for July 21st, or thereabouts. We are still feeling really positive about the prospects of receiving a court date before the courts close, though we are feeling quite anxious while we wait to hear! One scripture passage that God has really used to keep me focused on Him during this time is 1 Peter 5:6-7: "Humble yourself under God's almighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your cares on him, because He cares for you." I have been daily casting the anxiety and fear I feel about possibly not receiving a court date on the Lord, and gradually I am learning to leave it there, as well.
I am not sure if I have ever written about this or not, but Zack's uncle is Chip Ingram, pastor and president of Living on the Edge Ministries. He is on the radio daily and has such an awesome ministry- you definitely want to check out their ministry and listen to some of his podcasts. He has an amazing gift for teaching the Word of God, and I recently listened to a message in which he referenced the passage from 1 Peter 5:6-7. He really brought to light something I had never considered- that when we don't cast our cares on God, it is really an act of pride on our part, as if somehow we think God is not capable of taking care of all our cares and worries, but somehow we are- absurd, I know, but the more I think about it, I am guilty of this quite often. So, during my prayer time, I have been asking God to reveal to me the ways in which I keep my worries and concerns to myself, instead of giving them to God. It is going to take some practice, but the peace that God has already been so faithful to give is amazing!

Thanks Caldwells for your post. :) It's exciting to be able to partner with you in your adoption! Remember that God acts on behalf of those that wait on Him! (Is. 64.4)

Great pictures! He is even CUTER in yellow, if that is possible! How neat that Zack's uncle is Chip Ingram - I love listening to his sermons. I always come away with something I can apply to my daily life.
